We are situated in central Maitland between Cathedral St and Preschool Lane, and flanked by the riverbank. Vehicle access is a one way loop entering through Preschool Lane and exiting along Cathedral St.. . We are different from long day care services in several ways:-. . We run according to school terms and hours. Children need to be a minimum of 3 years to attend. We are State rather than federally funded, so we have a different fee structure (eg., Child Care Benefit entitlement). From 1st January 2009 Maitland Nursery School became known as Maitland Community Preschool. Everything else remained the same; just the name changed. The name change, we believe, gives a better indication of the service we are, i.e. community-operated preschool in Maitland.. .
