We want to raise awareness on various untouched issues which require immediate social attention and present them as a case to policy makers for action.. We also act as a watch dog for Government policies and ensure the benefit distribution is just and transparent and reaches the rightful recipients.. We believe in action rather than criticism. . We aim to work on empowerment and mainstreaming of target marginalized sectors by organizing skill building workshops, . medical assessment camps, making them self aware by educating them on their rights, government policies etc, and thereby, ensuring their sustained development.. . Who are we.....?. Maadhyam started in April 2016 by a handful of people with dream to leave our society in a better state than it was when we discovered it; People who believed that there are social issues which are visible in plain sight but go unnoticed because they aren't advocated for (enough). Maadhyam is a medium. A medium to raise awareness. . . What is in progress....?. The first project : "CHETNA" is dedicated for the empowerment and mainstreaming of Transgender community in the country. The estimated population of this non-binary community is 6 lakhs but our task will be impossible if all 1.3 billion of us don't believe in the cause. We want every person to take the below simple pledge :. . "I will not treat any transgender with disdain"and hatred and will educate my next and previous generations about the same."
