The Somerset Committee for the Homeless, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization first formed in 1996 to provide relief to the homeless. We are a group of concerned citizens, church leaders, and local agency representatives who strive to address the gaps in services to the homeless. Our primary focus is to bring a homeless shelter to Somerset County, the only county in Maryland that does not have a facility, to serve our residents and those in neighboring counties. After years of planning, our dreams are about to come true with the opening of the Lower Shore Shelter this summer.
