Detailed description is A call to action to motivate and inspire 18-24 year olds to volunteer.. Greetings! My name is Kate Jones, I am a senior Graphic Design and PR major at York College of Pennsylvania. . . My campaign is called "Lost Your VCard? Get it back".. . Confused?. . Well I wanted to take a non-traditional approach to motivating my peers to volunteer. This slogan, yes is implying being a "virgin" of volunteering . It is for individuals that no longer volunteer but want to start again (get there V-card back) or people that have never volunteered and want to earn their V card.. . I will interview 25 people who volunteer and ask them a series of questions on volunteering; such as why they volunteer, for what organizations, where someone their age could find volunteer opportunities that will fit their hectic life style. . . I will take it a step further and promote this campaign using sexual innuendos based on the interviewees stories. For example a friend of mine works with building houses for the homeless.. the slogan on his poster will say " I love to screw on a saturday morning".. meaning working on the houses for the less fortunate. Its all in how you take it ;). . . I will refer people to this page to show my project progress until my show in May. This page is to act as a forum for anyone to share their volunteer tips, experiences or great local organizations to volunteer for. I will also post volunteer tips and opportunities on the York College campus and around the York community.. . My goal is to attract my target audience to the promotional material in the hope that they will look at the actual campaign more in depth and act on it. I know this campaign is a non- traditional spin to volunteering but to get college students to volunteer we have to take a playful, intriguing and more shocking approach then just telling them they need to do it, because it is nice. Making them realize that volunteering is fun, cool, sexy and just feels good to help their community. If I can get people to volunteer, experience this, and continue to volunteer then I have achieved my goal.
