Detailed description is Lolo Farmhouse Brewing beers are hand-crafted in small batches using only natural, essential ingredients sourced right here on Mt Hood and in Oregon. Lolo Farmhouse Brewing is a family run nano-brewery located on Mt Hood in Oregon, owned by Jason and Emily Stoller Smith. We take inspiration from the art of wine and champagne production to produce, with passion, the finest handcrafted ales using traditional, old world techniques. All of our beers are hand crafted in small batches using only natural, essential ingredients: Mecca Grade single source malts, local hops, untreated water and wild strains including local micro-flora. Our ales are mashed overnight in oak wine barrels, fermented in open-top oak wine barrels and aged exclusively in oak wine barrels for two years. The long, slow maturation process builds complexity, expressing the terroir of Oregon in an artisan, handcrafted fermentation. Once ready, we fill our bottles carefully by hand, one barrel at a time; with a final dosage of natural sugars from fresh wine grape juice, our ales re-ferment in the bottle, carbonating slowly and naturally over the course of an additional year. The three year long process from beginning to drinking builds an exceptionally complex product that express terroir in much the same way as wine.
