live@thechapel is a live music event held in the Historic Surface Hill Church at 10 Channon Street, Gympie that introduces the message & music of an Australasian contemporary artist/band (with the occasional guest artist/band from overseas) whose music is an expression of a Judeo-Christian perspective/worldview..

The first event was held on the 10th of May 2009 and showcased the music of Aliki..

Following a brief intro from the event coordinator at 7 pm, the artist/band has up to an hour to perform a set of their songs (and speak about the message of particular songs or what led them to write these songs, if they would like to).
We then finish with a brief interview of the artist/band followed by supper which gives people an opportunity to speak personally with the artist/band and/or purchase their music.
We also have a retiring offering which goes towards the artist's/band's travelling expenses..

The church is a small, intimate venue (comfortably seats about 100 people) and therefore lends itself to a more acoustic-style delivery.
Data projection is also available for artists/bands that would like their lyrics or visuals projected.
