We set up Light My Space in 2011 as a hobby business which emerged from various lighting and technology-enabled projects designed and installed by James Humphries & Ira Blake during the re-modelling of our home in Porton. We wanted to have fun with the different spaces; theming rooms to reflect our worldwide travels together and our Anglo-Dutch-Norwegian heritage. . . James subsequently completed several projects for neighbours and local businesses who found him through word of mouth referrals. By 2017, we found people’s interest in different types of lighting was increasing while the information needed to understand the product choices was too complex and time-consuming to understand. . . We launched Light My Space to share our in-depth knowledge of lighting and provide access to incredible lighting fixtures and technologies - ‘the art of the possible’ - to enhance people's work and living spaces.
