Detailed description is Leslie Frank, MT attended Bowling Green High School and then Northwest Academy of Massotherapy and earned her state medical board license for massage therapy in 1999. She has been practicing for 19 years with Dr. St. Clair. Leslie has been married to Chris Frank (also a BGHS grad) for 20 years. They reside in Port Clinton, Ohio and enjoy boating on Lake Erie. Leslie has extensive training in deep tissue massage as well as Fibromyalgia and is certified in pet massage. She combines different modalities (i.e. Swedish, deep tissue, Shiatsu) in each session, depending on the needs of the client.. . . . Leslie's thoughts on Deep Tissue Massage: I have learned to deliver excellent deep tissue massage because I had to meet the needs of my clients. Also, because of me doing so much massage and working out regularly I now know which techniques tend to work more effectively in alleviating pain and preventing or dealing with any injuries. But the way I deliver deep tissue massage is different from many therapists - I do not hurt my clients. I use a lot of pressure along with various other techniques including trigger point therapy but I only use the level of pressure that is tolerable for my clients. I also break up deep tissue work with lots of relaxation massage techniques in order to give clients a little break which allows them to still enjoy their session even though pain issues are being addressed. I just do not believe you have to be so intense with everything to get awesome results and have the client get up off the table and be able to feel and move better.. . . Leslie's Massage Philosophy: It is my belief that the human body is an awesome creation and that has the inherent ability to heal itself. I believe that massage is one of the most powerful ways that we can speed up the healing process and that the body should be treated as a whole rather than dealt with in parts. This is why I always seek to integrate the whole body. If one part of a person's body is tense then it could affect another part. If one part is in pain it will inevitably affect either a neighboring muscle or the opposite side of the body will overcompensate for it.
