Detailed description is Founded by Atty. Constance Slaughter-Harvey, and co-founded by her daughter, Constance Olivia Burwell, LEGACY is a one-stop family enrichment program East Central Mississippi and provides free legal, educational, civic and mentoring services. L.E.A.C.E.F. (Legacy) was incorporated in 2011 and received its non-profit status in 2012. Prior to that time, services and programs were provided by the W. L. Slaughter Memorial Foundation, Inc. since 1983. Constance Slaughter-Harvey and her mother, Mrs. Olivia Kelley Slaughter provided services to the youth of the community through Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as well as tutorial services for students. . Following Mrs. Slaughter's death in 1991, Attorney Harvey and her daughter, Constance Olivia, continued to provide community services through the Foundation and expanded the services to include youth and student enrichment and enhancement services.
