Detailed description is Founded in 1978, L'Atelier de Clare is an Adult Service/Workshop Centre providing day programs to 33 adults living with intellectual and other challenges. L’Association canadienne pour l’intégration communautaire de Clare est un organisme sans but lucratif enregistré qui offre du soutien aux adultes ayant une déficience intellectuelle ou autre. Nos deux entités, soit l’Atelier de Clare (atelier de travail) et la Maison Jérôme (résidence), offrent des services dans les deux langues officielles. L’ACIC de Clare est un organisme-cadre dont les membres partagent un objectif commun et demeurent à l’intérieur de la Municipalité de Clare. . . Fondé en 1978, l’Atelier de Clare est un centre de services aux adultes et un atelier de travail qui offre des programmes de jour aux membres la communauté ayant une déficience intellectuelle ou une autre déficience. Les principes fondateurs de l’Atelier sont d’assurer l’accès à des services de soutien conçus par et pour des familles qui vivent avec des personnes ayant des déficiences. L’Atelier est situé à la Pointe-de-l’Église, le long de la Baie Sainte-Marie dans le sud-ouest de la Nouvelle-Écosse. Il offre des programmes personnalisés à ses 33 clients à temps plein et à temps partiel, et emploie cinq employés à temps plein ainsi que deux ou trois employés à temps partiel. Parmi les programmes offerts, on retrouve des programmes de consultation sur le travail et les habilités fondamentales ainsi que des programmes d’initiation au travail et d’emploi. Des cours de littératie et de numératie ainsi que des cours sur la pratique d’un mode de vie sain, sur la communication efficace et sur le bien-être collectif y sont également offerts. Enfin, les clients de l’Atelier ont la possibilité de participer à des activités en milieu de travail, telles que la menuiserie et la charpenterie, l’artisanat, la gravure, l’entretien de pelouses, l’entretien ménager et la vente au détail. L’indépendance et l’inclusion sont des principes qui se trouvent au cœur des activités de l’Atelier. . . La Maison Jérôme, une résidence de groupe enregistrée auprès du ministère des Services communautaires de la Nouvelle-Écosse, est également située à la Pointe-de-l’Église. La Maison accueille neuf résidents, qui participent aux activités en milieu de travail de l’Atelier de Clare. La résidence compte douze membres du personnel qualifiés qui accompagnent les résidents dans leur vie quotidienne et qui assurent un environnement sécuritaire, plaisant et sain. Le respect de l’individualité dans un contexte de cohésion sociale et d’intégration communautaire est le principe qui gouverne les pratiques de la Maison Jérôme.. .
