Detailed description is Lane Fire Authority is the provider of emergency services in fire, life safety, and emergency medical services to over 36,000 residents in Lane County.
LFA is the product of an intergovernmental agreement that was established July 2012, between two fire districts, Lane Rural Fire/Rescue and Lane County Fire District #1.
Our service area incorporates 276 square miles west, northwest, and southwest of Eugene, Oregon.
Our team of 130 career and volunteer personnel provide service to a population of 36,000 citizens in the two districts.
Our career staff includes 12 line positions, 6 maintenance positions, 2 fire prevention positions, 2 training officer positions, 4 chief officer positions, and 2 administrative support positions.
We operate out of 14 stations, 3 of which have career staffing.
We also operate an ALS ambulance service with an Ambulance Service Area that includes several other fire districts and extends into two other counties.
We respond to over 4200 calls for service annually, approximately 85% of which are EMS.
Our fleet includes 12 Type I engines, 3 Type 3 engines, 2 aerial quints, 10 tenders, 2 heavy rescues, 3 squads, 8 light rescues, 2 rescue boats, and 5 ambulances..
