On January 1st, 2013, the Lake Shastina Police Department and the Lake Shastina Fire Department merged to form what is now known as the Lake Shastina Department of Public Safety.. . Under the helm of Chief Mike Wilson, several programs were implemented: YANA (You Are Not Alone) Program, Lake Shastina DPS Volunteers and C.E.R.T.. . The Lake Shastina Department of Public Safety (LSDPS) currently has one chief, Mike Wilson, two full time officers (Officers Beck and Owens) and one part time officer (Officer Marshall), providing 24 hour law enforcement protection for the residents of Lake Shastina. . . The Fire Department continues to be a volunteer organization with training every Monday evening. Joining the Fire Department First Responders and Firefighters are the Explorer's who train along side. the volunteers.. . The LSDPS plays host to many events throughout the year; notably.
