The Lake of Egypt is a 2300 acre lake with 93 miles of shoreline that borders the Shawnee National Forest.
The average depth of the lake is 18 feet (5.5 m) with a maximum depth of 52 feet (15.8 m).
The lake is open to the public.
Racing type boats, boats with loud, open or uninhibited exhaust systems, boats with toilet, kitchen or lodging facilities or boats with sidewalls are not allowed.
Pontoon boats must not exceed 28 feet and hull boats may not exceed 20 feet.
Waterskiing, tubing, and jet skis are permitted in the designated areas.
Fishing includes Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Striped Bass, and Crappie.
