Tel.: (+502) 45661910. e-mail: [email protected]. . .La Tribu de Ben Levi Jazz Band se presenta por primera vez en INFOUSAC 2011, representando a la ESArte (Escuela Superior de Arte) de la USAC. En esa oportunidad, todos los miembros eran de la ESArte, en donde estudian sus respectivos instrumentos (Excepto Osmar que estudia piano y es el baterista). A partir de allí, se inicia una carrera musical enfocada en lo artístico y cultural. Participó en la celebración del 5º. aniversario de la ESArte, que se llevó a cabo en la 6ª avenida de la zona 1 capitalina, así como en el marco del Festival Eurocine 2011, en el Teatro Nacional. Participó junto a Torti-Jazz en la celebración del Festival del Centro Histórico, edición 2011. Nuevamente hace su aparición en INFOUSAC 2012. Se han realizado presentaciones culturales en la prestigiosa Plaza Fontabella, así como la participación y apertura del Jazz Day 2013 en el teatro “La Cúpula” y 2014 en "Teatro Don Juan", junto a importantes exponentes del Jazz en Guatemala; en el 3er. Festival Internacional de Clarinete en Guatemala, en junio del 2013. Hizo su aparición en el primer largometraje de la Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, “Grano de Lágrimas”. . . Dentro del recorrido histórico, la banda se ha involucrado en otros festivales artísticos, tal como el organizado por la ESArte en Moyuta (Jutiapa) en marzo del 2012, y el organizado por el colectivo “IncoGnitus Art” en la facultad de Ingeniería de la USAC en octubre 2013. También se han elaborado conciertos didácticos en colegios, y en algunas facultades de la USAC, donde se busca acercar a los jóvenes a esta alternativa musical. Banda de jazz acústico formada en el 2011 por alumnos de la Escuela Superior de Arte. (ES-Arte) de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (USAC). Actualmente la banda. cuenta también con la participación de instrumentistas de distintas instituciones laborales y. educativas.. . El estilo abordado por la agrupación consigue un empaste singular que logra combinar. géneros del jazz como el swing, mainstream, blues, cool jazz, bebop y bossa nova,. retomando el uso de las formas musicales e instrumentales que dieron vida al jazz como. género propio.. . La Tribu de Ben Levi ha sido partícipe de varios festivales artísticos y culturales dentro del. país, entre los que destacan el Festival del Centro Histórico en sus distintas ediciones,. celebraciones del Día Internacional de Jazz, primer Festival de Arte (FIA) de la USAC, y,. en el 2013, se incluye su colaboración para el primer proyecto cinematográfico de la. institución en mención, el largometraje “Grano de Lágrimas”..
