Detailed description is A family-owned farm that sells heirloom fruits and vegetables to individuals and top chefs located 11 miles north of Edna on FM 822 Our purpose is to continue to grow delicious, healthy food in a sustainable and natural manner using higher-than-current organic standards. By respecting nature and investing in the soil, we intend to produce wonderful fruits and vegetables. Through sales and outreach, we hope to share our passion and inspire others to join in the process. We want this farm to draw closer our family, friends and neighbors -near and far. We have a new awareness and appreciation for the rich possibilities that spending more time outside observing the changing of the seasons can bring. We aspire to share, educate and continue to learn. To put it lightly, we want to save the world and create a safe haven for the coming zombie apocalypse, biblical apocalypse or climate change - whichever comes first.. . . Knopp Branch Farm is a small, family operated farm located 11 miles north of Edna, Texas on the banks of the Lavaca River. We provide our produce to many of Houston's best restaurants and sell to our retail customers on Saturday mornings at Urban Harvest Farmers Market at Eastside and Richmond. . . While not certified organic, we use strict organic methods: no chemical fertilizers or pesticides whatsoever. Our goal is to create a sustainable family farm using organic methods and hopefully disprove the statistic that family farms are not feasible. . . Our produce selection is extensive and includes everything from heirloom tomatoes to eight varieties of eggplant to rare "cheddar" cauliflowers to name just a few. Each variety is selected for its beauty and incredible flavor. For many of our newer customers, it is an amazing experience to taste a perfectly ripe tomato or peach.. . Knopp Branch Farm is a full-time job for Donna and Ernest, and our amazing security force, Millie and Sam and part-time for Harry, Anna, and Nick.
