St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Council 12379 was founded in March 1998 and is named after our Parish, which was founded 175 years ago this year. Council 12379 works closely with Our Parish providing spiritual and material support for its ministries.. . Some of the major projects the Council currently supports include:. • Ministering at the monthly Knights of Columbus Mass by men of the council. • Fostering religious vocations through the Vocations Chalice Program. • Support of Bishop Rhoades and the Franciscan Brothers Minor. • Sponsoring a fund drive for the mentally handicapped. • Supporting the Church’s pro-life activities through assistance to the Women’s Care Center of Fort Wayne. • Supporting our parish mission to assist families in need in Beattyville, Kentucky. • Support of the Gibault School in Terre Haute, Indiana. • Support of our annual Notre Dame Smoker. . Additional Council activities include:. • The Annual St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Fall Festival. • Parish Picnic and Fish Frys. • Sunday morning donuts in the church library. • Annual Knights of Columbus skeet shoot every fall. • Sending Christmas cards to our Diocesan seminarians. • Free throw contest for the parish youth. • Essay and poster contests for the grade school students at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel. .
