Detailed description is We are a ministry of the Eudora United Methodist Church. We help to remove the 'barrier to freedom' by building wheelchair ramps for those in need. . We will design, engineer, construct and install the ramp, for the "cost of materials". We build to local building codes and ADA requirements. Each design is unique and is based on three factors; where you exit the house, where the ramp will end and how far down it must descend. . . Here is how the process works.. - we visit the location to take photos and detailed measurements.. - a design is created, a material list is made and the material cost is calculated.. - details of the design & cost are provided to the recipient for approval.. - once approved, we purchase materials from local providers.. - we handle and pay for the construction permit, if required.. - materials are taken to the workshop, where the ramp is prefabricated.. - an installation date is scheduled. Usually a Saturday, weather permitting.. - we call to have utilities 'located'.. - 6 to 12 individuals will install most ramps in a single day.. - we provide the recipient a detailed invoice of the materials used.. - the recipient makes a donation to the church equal to, or greater than the cost.. . Our project schedule is based on 'first come first served', but can be adjusted if the need is urgent. We usually work within a 60 mile radius of Eudora.. .
