Detailed description is The Kenwick Cricket Club was established in 1949 and is located at Mills Park, at the corner of Brixton Street and Bickley Road, Beckenham WA. The formation of the Kenwick Cricket Club was the idea of Ivan Charles (Bert) McKenna. Kenwick already had a football club and Bert saw the opportunity to form a cricket club using mostly footballers. The first attempt in 1948 didn't get off the ground, but with enthusiasm of some local identities Bert McKenna got the cricket club up and running in 1949. He played in the first side even though he was 52 years old.. . The first home games were played at Mills Park ground with access via Ladywell Street as Brixton Street did not exist. . . Kenwick later entered the junior competition in 1959 by fielding a side which was known as 'C' grade.
