The Kensley Cares Foundation, Inc.
is a non-profit organization founded November 27, 2013, by Ken and Felicia Harrison in loving memory of their daughter, Kensley Alanna Harrison.
Kensley Alanna Harrison became an angel on January 4, 2013, as a result of SIDS.
Through their faith and the strong support of friends and family, they were able to “live forward” after Kensley Alanna Harrison earned her wings.
Being active in their church and community, they were called on to talk to others who suffered similar losses.
After gaining regional support and approval from her employer, GEICO, Felicia was encouraged to start a local SIDS organization in an effort to provide corporate sponsorship to increase awareness and raise funds on-site.
After experiencing this devastating loss and discovering that there were no local support groups for SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) or SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood) in Middle Georgia, the Harrison’s were determined to make a difference in the lives of parents and parents-to-be in relation to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) or SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood).
The Harrison’s determination to be educated on SIDS and/or SUDC and to educate others about SIDS and/or SUDC is the inspiration for the work they are committed to accomplishing in their community and region.
