In early January 2014, a small group of current and prospective business owners/residents collected input from a dozen businesses on the street and held a first meeting to set the group's first priorities.
Those first priorities included:.

- work with city agencies to assure appropriate investment in streetscape improvements, transportation, and business incentives .
- devise promotional campaigns for the street and for businesses on it.
- gather information on business and resident needs to share with prospective business owners, local media, city agencies, and the community.
- bring together all residents, businesses, and other community groups committed to this cause to gain support for all this.
