Teaching children has always been my passion..
I was already tutoring for almost 15 years when I met some amazing homeschooling families.
Inspired by them, I have decided to adopt the homeschooling style of teaching and learning in my lessons.
The kids love it when we go outside and practise spelling words using chalks on the drive way or investigating hands-on maths instead of just doing exercises with boring school books! It is so much easier for them to learn when they are having fun and understand the relationship between schooling and real life.
And we always have time for a giggle too (or feeding Ollie the parrot, who seems to be everyone's favourite :o).
I've got heaps of experience with special needs kids, with a special interest in children with ADHD and Dyslexia.
It is amazing how dedicated and passionate these kids are once you get to know their strengths (and everyone has them), something some sadly don't bother with anymore at school.
I have met kids in the past that were labeled "wiggly", "unfocused" or "lazy" by their teachers but who have progressed in their learning and development so quickly, leaving their parents in disbelief..
I truly believe doing things differently from other tutors makes me stand-out from the rest.
