Em 2005, ela realizou um grande sonho e tornou-se pilota de helicóptero,. com licença concedida pelo ANAC.. Ao mesmo tempo que Karina viajava e competia, praticando diversos esportes de aventura, em 2000 ingressou na Faculdade de Medicina do ABC, no estado de São Paulo para, atualmente, trabalhar com emergências e regaste. Hoje, médica formada ela se especializou e tem seu Fellowship dado pela Wilderness Medical Society de Utah, Estados Unidos. Karina é a única brasileira a possuir título.. Atualmente, Karina Oliani é apresentadora da Rede Globo e dos canais Globosat e viaja por diversos países praticando os esportes radicais que tanto ama, além de, quando possível, exercer seus conhecimentos adquiridos em todos esses anos, para mostrar ao telespectador uma visão diferenciada desses esportes.. Antes, foi apresentadora do Programa Rolé, da SportTV, no Zona de Impacto em companhia da global Fiorella Mattheis.
