Detailed description is Helping families and individuals of all ages overcome stressors and relationship problems in order to live full and healthy lives Joni Perry, PLPC, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Counseling from Ozark Christian College and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from John Brown University. She is working to help families and individuals of all ages overcome trauma and problematic behavior that interferes with happiness, life satisfaction, and relationships. Joni is trained in EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Child-Centered Play Therapy, and is pursuing certification in EMDR and DBT. She has a strong background working with substance use disorders, veterans, and families. She takes a family-oriented approach, looking at the whole picture and not a single person as a "problem" that needs to be fixed. . . Joni has a passion for working with individuals and their families who endure stress from their occupation, such as those in religious service, police officers, and members of the armed services, having a first-hand understanding of the unique stressors that affect families living as public servants.. . Joni enjoys animals of all kinds, and hopes to incorporate horses into her future work through equine-based experiential therapy. She enjoys facilitating group therapy and working with families as a whole unit to address parenting and relationship problems. . .
