The mission of JCYS is to provide education, life skills, social skills, and vocational training to youthful offenders and potential offenders, while improving their family relationships.. . The goals within JCYS are:. 1) to provide the Juvenile Court System with a community disposition for adjudicated and at risk youth by implementing programming that offers sanction for youth who have committed minor or serious offenses; . 2) to provide a structured service plan of learning and recreational activity that encourages social growth and development, social consciousness, personal enrichment, and self-esteem; . 3) to be a resource for Johnston County (NC) Schools by providing an alternative learning environment for youth who have been short-term or long-term suspended from school; . 4) to assist in the reduction of Court involvement and recidivism; and. to provide preventive services for youth who are at-risk academically and/or socially.
