In 2008, Attorney Carnell Johnson and Attorney Elaine Nicholson, a husband and wife team, relocated to Charlotte, NC from Newark, NJ. Upon arrival, Mr. Johnson worked as an Assistant Public Defender at the Mecklenburg County Public Defender's Office. Prior to this, Mr. Johnson worked as a law clerk and associate lawyer with the Law Office of Thomas R. Ashley, a legendary lawyer in New Jersey. He also worked as a Deputy Attorney General with the Office of Attorney General for the State of New Jersey. . . While employed as an Assistant Public Defender, Mr. Johnson handled hundreds of criminal cases and conducted many trials. Elaine Nicholson worked as an attorney representing parents in abuse and neglect cases. Mrs. Nicholson also provided estate planning services to many clients.. .
