Nelson, has been preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ for the past 18 years at various churches and correctional facilities in his area.
He has also preached and participated in mission trips in South Dakota and Kentucky.
Presently, Tracy is the pastor at Pleasant Hill Church, a small non-denominational church.
He has practiced the primitive living skills, such as shelter building, fire making, flintknapping, bow making, tracking, stalking, and wild edibles for the past 20 years.
Tracy has worked as a wildlife biologist and conservation officer for Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries for the past 21 years.
He is a certified hunter education instructor and has worked with both children and adults in teaching wilderness survival, wildlife identification, archery and map reading.
Tracy enjoys hunting, fishing, survival trips, and family camping trips.
He has been married to his wife, Tracy M.
Nelson, for 22 years, and they have three children, Tori, Jana, and Jacob.
