Domenic DiGiacomo had been the principal from 2005 to 2009. After his retirement, Julie Solomon became the new Principal as of September 2009. Mary Nanavati is now the current Principal as of September 2013. The school has consistently ranked amongst the top secondary institutions in Ontario, and is currently ranked as first in Mississauga.HistoryThe school was named for John Fraser who retired as Director of the Peel District School Board in 1988. The school was established in 1990. In 2002, the school began an expansion which resulted in a new wing being added on to the school to meet the rising population.Community involvementJohn Fraser has community partnerships with General Motors, Unifirst, Unisource, Agfa, and Computers for Schools.The school hosts an annual Charity Week.
