Detailed description is Twenty three years ago a Long Island girl moved to Honesdale and found nature,. beauty, friends, and true happiness. We purchased a big, beautiful home. (unaffordable in N.Y. ) and raised our three children who all bought homes. nearby. After twenty plus years in the health care industry, my husband and I moved our family, kicking and screaming, from Long Island to Wayne County. We had fallen in love with the beauty and friendliness of the area while vacationing along the Delaware River. We were hoping to restore some safety, sanity, and peace to our crazy, disconnected lives. Our kids called it a midlife crisis.. . My husband and I met at Ohio State, moved to Knobnoster, Mo. while in the Air Force, Akron, Ohio, for more school, Tempoal, Veracruz, Mex. to become Dairy farmers, Austin, Texas, to make sandwiches, and then back to Long Island to find careers, settle down, raise three kids, and become responsible Suburban parents.. . We’ve never regretted our move to the country. We’ve been here in Honesdale for twenty three years. Our three children moved away, returned one by one, acquired careers of their own, bought houses within three blocks of our home, and are raising their children here.. .
