It is the second-largest secondary school in Devon.
Since September 2016, Rachel Hutchinson has been the principal.
It is on the southern slopes of Dartmoor, taking students from the surrounding 100sqmi of the South Hams, from 14 contributory primary schools.
It is large by English standards, with over 2,200 pupils, few of whom are from ethnic minorities and 14% of whom are registered special educational needs pupils.
