Detailed description is Island Scholars is committed to helping students from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, achieve their potential for academic success. In 1999 Ron Rose started a program to provide financial support to students from the community where he was born. Students were offered monthly stipends to help pay for education-related expenses.This support was targeted to high-achieving economically disadvantaged high school students. In 2012 the program expanded to include college scholarships.. The need for college scholarships has been so great, Island Scholars Inc., a non-profit organization was created in 2014 to provide college scholarships for students from anywhere in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
