Built in 1907, the two story building that is now known as the Irish Bred Pub Restaurant was constructed on the southwest corner of Third Avenue (Main Street) and 8th Street.
The building housed a number of businesses to include Heymnan Merz & Co ( Dry goods, clothing and Military apparel), J C Penney Company, and Elmore’s City Drug Store.
In 1997, West Point 2100 Foundation acquired the building and did extensive repairs to restore the original hardwood floors and preserve the historic integrity of the building.
WP2100 recruited a new business “City Drug Marketplace” (Antique Shop), a cute little boutique shop in downtown West Point.
In 1997, West Point 2100 Foundation, owner of property, realized the need for restaurants in the historic downtown area and later converted the antique shop into a restaurant including a fully equipped commercial kitchen.
Over the years, the second floor was the home of a dance studio and was once InterCall’s training center.
Later, the upstairs became a facility that could be used for birthday party’s, wedding receptions, wedding rehearsal dinners, and a meeting place where people could gather and socialize..

Again, WP2100 realizing the need for a great, well-established restaurant was a key factor in their efforts of revitalizing downtown West Point, especially with the expected growth in this community due to KIA Motors creating over 2,500 jobs in the City of West Point.
