Indy Annie's Kettle Corn is a fulfillment of a dream I had while on a trip to California for my 40th birthday. A friend I was visiting took me to a local farmers market and said, "You have to try the kettle corn! " Thinking of other theater and carnival popcorn eateries that were overly buttery, salty, or stuck to your teeth, I wondered "what's so special about kettle corn?" While observing and sniffing the batches of a wonderful fresh blend of a sweet and salty snack being made right on the spot in a huge kettle I knew this was a different kind of treat. After devouring most of a bag on the way home I remember thinking why doesn't anyone do this back home in Indiana. . It took me some years later (life has a way like that) but in March of 1016 I finally got the chance to make some of my very own kettle corn right here in the mid-west. . Who is Annie you might ask? Well Annie is my play on the word ' Indiana'. It has been very important to us that we use the freshest ingredients and especially local grown popcorn from my great home state of Indiana (Did you know we are the 2nd largest producer of popcorn?) My husband, who has always been the cook in our house, has also got to hone in on his cooking skills by developing several different flavors. We love being able to offer such a healthy, nutritional snack option (no GMO) while being able to participate in great outdoor events all over the south-east Indiana and Cincinnati area. . My husband and I do the events together and occasionally one or more of our 3 kids jump in to help , as well as other much appreciated family members.
