Detailed description is Welcome to “IBEW Smokin’ Sparky’s BBQ”. A competition BBQ Team Sponsored by IBEW Local 124 and lead by Head Cook and Journeyman Wireman Pete Semadeni. A Group of electricians decided to put down their tools and pick up a BBQ Fork. After years of cooking for our brothers and sisters at family picnics and other social events, we decided to test our meddle with the big dogs and see just what this competition BBQ was all about. None of us have ever studied in the cullinary arts or even worked in a restaurant other than maybe fast food before we got into the trade so you truly can't get any less professional cooking experience than this team. With our lack of experience, we came out swinging and had our rear ends handed to us. After that first last place finish we decided that we'd have to take this a lot more seriously if we wanted to continue. One became a CBJ, another took a class, and everyone combined their flavor profiles to come up with what we thought was the best offering. Since then, we've improved greatly and have even place 9th place for our ribs which was our best finish thus far. We've beaten notable teams in some of our categories and that is enough for us to continue holding our heads high with accomplishment. . . Current Team Members are:. Pete Semadeni - Head Cook.
