Fue,un 15 de febrero de 1976, toda la comunidad se reúne para elegir al Comité Pro-gestión y con votación directa salió elegida la siguiente Directiva:. . Domingo Manrique Cruz (Presidente). . Francisco Montalbán Arrunátegui (Vicepresidente). . Doris Yenque Chávez (Secretaria de Actas). . Antero Manrique Cruz (Secretario de Prensa). . Simón Chávez Arrunátegui (Tesorero). . José Pedemonte Samaniego (fiscal). . Alberto León Zanabria (1er Vocal). . César Cisneros Reyes (2do Vocal). . Alberto Requejo Mendoza (3er Vocal). . Gregorio Silva Juárez (4to Vocal) . . Sor María Angélica Jiménez Castillo (Asesora).. . De inmediato se forman las Comisiones de Trabajo y es el Señor Domingo Manrique Cruz y Sor María Jiménez Castillo,quiénes,presentaron un memorial al NEC 21, solicitándosele a su Director Prof. Renán Sánchez Urruelo, la autorización para el funcionamiento. Quien de inmediato visita nuestro lugar de La Matanza, para comprobar in situ la realidad y con Oficio Nº 075 realiza un informe sobre alumnos y alumnas egresados del Centro Educativo de Primaria 14643.. . El Municipio dona el terreno al Ministerio de Educación, se levanta el plano del futuro colegio secundario y se solicita poner el nombre al nuevo centro de estudios secundarios.. . 18 de marzo de 1976, se reúne la Comisión e informan que la Dirección Zonal de Educación de Piura que el Centro Educativo Secundario, funcionará como anexo de un colegio de Chulucanas.. . Fue en el local del ex-club "RIVASPLATA",que comienza a funcionar y por unanimidad se elige el nombre de San Agustín.. . 19 de abril de 1976, el profesor Pedro Miguel Alvarado Merino, asume la coordinación del plantel, el mismo que resalta la labor realizada por el Presidente de la Comisión Sr. Domingo Manrique Cruz y de Sor María A. Jiménez castillo.. . Y mediante Resolución Nº 02603 con fecha 21 de Setiembre de 1976. se crea nuestra Institución Educativa.. . Su primer Director el Profesor Pedro Alvarado Merino. . Primera plana de Docentes: José Abad Barranzuela, José Espinoza Hernández, José Carrasco Alzamora, Sor Francisca Landeo Y Alberto Zanabria León.. . 52 alumnos y alumnas se matriculan y así se inicio las actividades del Colegio Secundario San Agustín de La Matanza.. . El nombre fue a propuesta de la hermana María Angélica Jimenez Castillo, siendo aceptada por el Comité Pro-gestión y los Padres de Familia.
