In the early 60’s Charlie Spencer, who was a surgical shoe maker by trade, and at the time was making sheepskin Buff Pads for crash repairers.
He was asked by his daughter if he could make a pair of sheepskin slippers to keep her feet warm.
They were not glamorous but they served the purpose “WARM FEET”..
Charlie’s son John & his mate Barry were surfers, and said they would be great to put on after surfing.
Long story short, they started to gain interest from other surfers..
Barry introduced John Arnold, who had a shoe repair and Surf Shop in Adelaide to Charlie, the boots were made with a soft sole and John would put on a white heeled sole.
