Detailed description is STARTALK Portuguese Summer Camp is a fun packed Hudson Public School's day camp that will develop students’ proficiency in the Portuguese language.
STARTALK’s mission is to increase the number of U.S.
citizens learning, speaking, and teaching critical need foreign languages.
Our summer program is funded by a grant from the United States National Security Agency (NSA) through the University of Maryland.
The STARTALK Portuguese Language & Cultures Summer Program is a fun packed Hudson Public Schools day program that will develop students’ proficiency in Portuguese and their understanding of the cultures of Portuguese-speaking communities.
This program will target incoming grade 4 & 5 non-heritage speakers and incoming grade 6, 7 & 8 heritage speakers..

Critical languages are languages for which there is large demand for language professionals but little supply.
Portuguese is considered to be a critical language in the US..

When does the program run?.
.
Our program will support 30 students over 15 days from 6/23/17 – 7/14/17 and will provide students with 90 hours of immersion in the Portuguese language.
All Teaching Staff are native speakers of Portuguese.
