Honors College Connects is a partnership formed during 2009-2010 school year by a group of Honors College Students in conjunction with mentors from Leadership Fairfax, Inc.
The group conducted surveys and interviews with university faculty, Honors College Students and constituents from Leadership Fairfax to figure out how to best create a partnership between the organizations.
Once the data was compiled, the team came to the conclusion that the partnership would take on the following components:.

- Students, working in groups, will adopt long-term service projects submitted to and vetted by Leadership Fairfax to complete during the academic year under the direction of a mentor from Leadership Fairfax .

- Students attend leadership seminars and teambuilding exercises facilitated by Leadership Fairfax and the Honors College.

- Students present their projects to community non-profit organizations and constituents from the Honors College and Leadership Fairfax.

- Students have the opportunity to serve on an Executive and Junior Executive Board to help coordinate the project teams after a year of participating in a project.
