Qus: 4).What does the local business do?

Ans: Hilary Rhoda was raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland and Rye, NY. Always athletic and active, Hilary danced ballet for 11 years, played tennis and was on her club's swimming and diving teams. As a high school student at the Academy of the Holy Cross in Maryland she was on the field hockey team as a three year varsity athlete and as a member of the Washington conference championship team she earned honors and was awarded best offensive player. Recruited by several colleges to play field hockey, Rhoda deferred her college acceptances after a career in modeling began during her sophomore year. After attending a ProScout event in Washington, DC at the urging of her mother, she was surprised when she received one of the highest number of "call backs" of any others in attendance. During Thanksgiving break, Rhoda and her mother visited the numerous agencies from the call backs, and signed on with the one best suited for their desires for a normal high school life as an athlete and student. Soon after signing with an agency, her All American natural look landed her in front of world renowned photographer Bruce Weber, who placed her in ad campaigns for Hollister, Abercrombie and Ralph Lauren. Modeling during school breaks heightened Rhoda's desire for a career in modeling and she began to think of life as a model as more than a pass time. Upon Hilary's graduation, Rhoda and her mother/manager discussed taking it to the next level as Marianne Rhoda called the number one agency to the top models in the world, IMG, for an appointment. Their dream came true as IMG signed her upon that first meeting. Not as easy as just that, Rhoda and her mother had to find an apartment in NY and send her brother off to college, a University of Penn student in his second year. The agreement was made between mother and daughter; a Fifth avenue apartment, her mother traveling with her, as she was just 18 years old, and one year to give it a try. If it didn’t work out it was a reinstatement of the college acceptances. Timing wise, signing on with IMG during NY fashion week proved to be disappointing. The NY season was in full swing. Rhoda trekked through the numerous "go sees" all over New York City to no avail. A meeting was called by the Rhoda team with IMG and the decision was made to try Milan and Paris. Milan was another disappointment, with one major designer booking Rhoda. It was not until Paris that the wheels were put in motion and the booking of Rhoda for the designer Nicholas Ghersquire of Balenciaga set up the chain reaction that resonated throughout the industry for this American girl in Paris. Following her debut at Balenciaga that week, Rhoda opened the Valentino show, and made runway appearances for all the blue chip shows, including YSL, Chanel, Dior, and Lanvin. At the completion of her first show season which had by then proved to be more than a success, even after a slow start in NY and Milan, Rhoda was booked for the Balenciaga ad campaign photographed by David Sims, and was the only model featured solo in an ad campaign of multiple top models. She was also featured that same season by Models.com as one of the "top ten new faces". She quickly became a runway, editorial and ad campaign favorite. She has been photographed by Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Craig McDean, Mert & Marcus, David Sims, Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, and Arthur Elgort; has graced the covers and appeared in editorials of Vogue (American, Italian, French, Spanish, German), W, Self Service and Dazed & Confused; ad campaigns for Pucci, Emanuel Ungaro, Blumarine, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan. St. John, Eres and Givenchy and has walked every major runway for both couture and ready to wear for designers such as Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez, Zac Posen, Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Hermes, John Galliano, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler, Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera and Ralph Lauren. In 2007 Rhoda signed on with cosmetics giant Estee Lauder as one of the new faces of the iconic brand, still run by the Lauder family. Rhoda has become the primary face of the brand worldwide. In 2008 Forbes named her one of the top earning models in the world. In 2009 Rhoda made her first of two appearances in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, a fitting place for the former athlete turned supermodel.
