Alabama Spay/Neuter (ASN) has, since inception, been approved & sanctioned by the Alabama Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, the licensing agent for all clinics & veterinarians in the State.

On June 9th, 2011 ASN received a certified letter from The Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners stating that we are operating in violation of code and must cease operations.
We believe this is a politically motivated attack on the Clinic, spearheaded by a few of the Board members who do not subscribe to our mission for one reason or another.
There was no prior notice given, just the receipt of the letter..

The Clinic has been successful in reducing euthanasia and intake in all area shelters by virtue of our work.
ASN is not a full service clinic - surgeries and preventative vaccinations only.
The Hip-to-Snip Express transports to 13 adjacent counties in an effort to offer low cost spay/neuter where none exists.
We have an active trap/neuter/release program for feral cats in all of our areas.
Last year, in one way or another, 79% of all surgeries were financially supplement by grants and donations.

Weber, DVM (veterinarian for 52 years), owns the practice performing veterinary service in ASN- he employs, manages & pays the veterinarians.
All veterinarians that perform surgery at ASN have a license from the ASBVME.
The ASN premiss permit, signed by the ASBVME, is prominently displayed in the lobby.

He was charged guilty on 5 out of 10 of the charges (which he is NOT guilty).
We will go into appeal in district court in Montgomery within 30 days.
Dr.
Weber and Alabama Spay/Neuter will continue to operate while appeal is underway.
