Heart to Heart is a grass-roots organization that began in 1997 with the “adoption” of a single family and has expanded to serving nearly 400 children and their families yearly.

Primarily through the process of providing of personalized holiday gifts, Heart to Heart utilizes the generosity of local community members in an effort to enhance the overall well-being of our most precious resource, the children..

Our preparation begins as the start of school approaches.
Social Workers, assisted by parents, complete profiles of children and families for Christmas adoption.
Families from many different local organizations such as Head Start, Healthy Families, and Southern Tier Hospice are selected by organization coordinators and family workers based on greatest need.
The majority of families served by Heart to Heart come out of Steuben County where no other Christmas program such as the Arctic League or Seneca Santa’s exists.
We are also in the process of expanding Heart to Heart into other nearby counties through the development of additional divisions in other areas of the Southern Tier.
