Detailed description is Our mission is to provide unlimited opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to realize their unique potentials. Heart of Morton began with a group of parents of adults with special needs. As our students reached adulthood, opportunities for meaningful employment, continuing education, housing and social involvement became more limited. We began to plan.... HOM currently provides daytime programing for our young adults. Led by veteran educator, Bette Nelson, our "peeps" spend time engaged in lifeskill exercises, job training, art, excursions, and volunteering in the community. We hope to grow to a second day soon!. In addition, we have purchased an embroidery machine which will provide meaningful employment for many of our adults. We are currently taking orders on a wide variety of sportswear, hats, and other items. We intend to grow this micro business slowly and steadily as we involve each individual to their best of their abilities as part of the team.. Our long term goals include expanding housing opportunities for our young adults to live independent, meaningful and full lives with appropriate supports. .
