in Mystic, Ct.
In 2005, I was recovering from a long period of illness, spending a lot of time in the house with my three sons, Kevin, Ian and Colin.
To practice figure drawing, I was sketching images of Manny Ramirez and other baseball players for my boys.
Coincidentally, we were planning a road trip to visit Cape Cod and Boston, and I went looking for a Red Sox activity book for my son Ian, who was ten years old and obsessed with baseball.
I searched the web, and went to a bunch of local bookstores and was surprised to find that none existed..

I decided to give it a try.
I spent a year in my attic drawing the illustrations for our first Red Sox Coloring and Activity Book.
My family and friends thought that I was a little crazy.
I enlisted my nephew, Brendan Fitzgerald, then an English major at Ithaca College, to create crossword puzzles, word searches and games.
Through a friend of a friend, I was able to connect with a wonderful graphic artist, Matt Haas, to add his special touches and put the books together for us.
I sent a sample to Major League Baseball Properties Inc., and to the MLB Players Association, and they liked our idea.
We published the first edition of our Red Sox Coloring and Activity Book in 2007, just before the Red Sox won the World Series..

Since then, our company has been through a lot of changes.
I’ve gotten help from artists Scott Waddell and Jack Montmeat, who created beautiful illustrations for our Yankees Coloring and Activity Book, and then subsequently for books for nine other MLB teams.
We’ve weathered the storms of the credit crunch and the recession.
We’re proud to say that we are still here, and still growing, printing our books in the United States of America.
We’ve recently moved out of the attic and into an office in Madison, CT..
