Detailed description is A global health student consortium spanning all 12 schools of Harvard University. Harvard Students for Global Health (HSGH) is a university-wide global health student consortium. Supported by the Harvard Global Health Institute, HSGH serves to create an interdisciplinary community that connects, educates, and empowers students to make an impact in global health. HSGH maintains a membership of about 300 students and is led by an executive board of representatives from various Harvard schools.. . At each Harvard school, there are faculty and students devoted to the study and practice of global health; the discipline is wide and varied, as global health represents a collection of problems, not a single field. Harvard as a university has shown a commitment to global health, and the University supports a wide array of professional programs and departments devoted to this cause. HSGH provides the university with a mechanism to bring students together and involve them in this important and ever-changing discipline. Previous HSGH programming includes a weekly global health workshop series, an online database to share student and faculty experiences in global health, a university-wide survey on global health, and interdisciplinary research in DR Congo.
