Hi!.

My name is hannah merry marlin.
I live on the little island of martha's vineyard.
I like my camera and pickles and and eyeliner and making things..
.
I'm really into people.
.
.
I think they're really interesting.
That's why I like to take pictures of them.
I like catching that passing glance or mysterious smile.
The way their hair falls and their dress blows in the wind.
A laugh, a cry, a kiss, a moment in time that cannot be replaced..

It started in high school when I would ditch classes to hang out in the photo room with my friends and my favorite ever photography teacher, mr.Baer (sorry college prof's but he takes the cake).
I was always welcome in his classroom.
I met all my best friends in that room making photographs.
We laughed and cried, and more than anything we got immensely frustrated at equipment.
But overall, we grew in that room.
In life and creativity.
Photography became my life.
And I loved every minute of it.
The rest is history..

Photography has given me a lot of things.
It's showed me my self-worth, taught me how to engage with people, given me a reason to get off my butt and smell the fresh air, reminded me how important it is to spend time with friends and family, and even gotten me out of depression..

So as you can see there's a reason making pictures means so much to me..

When I'm not making photos, I'm making jewelry.
Wampum jewelry to be specific.
You know, that pretty purple coloring that naturally forms on the inside of a quahog shell.
I make earrings and necklaces that have gained a lot of popularity among the vineyard community.
And I love making them.

I went to school at the university of new hampshire where I studied photography and the italian language.
I graduated in 2014 with my bachelors..

I've been dating the same wonderful human for the last 7 years named justin anthony oslyn and he is not only my soul mate but also my creative cheerleader and pseudo-lifecoach (I like him)..

Next to photography and jewelry making the other thing I love doing is singing.
I originally went to college for vocal performance but broke up with it to go back to my other boyfriend photography..

Even though I quit singing as a major I continued to perform with unh's premier co-ed a cappella group alabaster blue.
The group became a huge part of my life and I made friends for life there..

I have a pet russian tortoise named goldberg, he's 8 years old and he's the size of an orange.
He's really cool..

My favorite color is blue but I really only wear black, grey, and army green..

I love animals.
Specifically turtles, dogs, and pangolins (look them up they're hilarious).

And I'm addicted to coffee..
