For enquiries and requests please contact: [email protected] was born on 30th July 1992 where she suffered 2 cardiac arrests directly after birth. This left her with permanent damage in numerous areas of her brain, resulting in weak hips and mobility problems, deformed feet and legs and affecting the fine motor skills in her hands. Hannah uses a wheelchair for long distances but does have a small ability to walk.Hannah spent many years playing wheelchair basketball before being introduced to wheelchair racing at the age of 15 by Dr Ian Thompson. After just six months training and two races, she was talent spotted and picked for the Great Britain Paralympic Athletics team in October 2008 and hasn’t looked back since.. In 2010, Hannah made remarkable improvements under the guidance of a new coach, Peter Eriksson. In eight days, Hannah completed her a-level exams, became prom Queen, competed in her first international, overseas event and broke seven world records. An incredible feat by anyone’s standards.. At just 24 years old she has over 30 world records under her belt in the T34 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m distances and in 2011 made her senior international debut in the IPC World Athletics Championships in New Zealand. Here, she became the T34 100m and 200m World Champion, and later that year, went on to make her junior international debut at the IWAS Junior World Championships in Dubai. Here, she returned home as the 200m and 400m World Junior Champion. In 2012 Hannah made her Paralympic Games debut and stole the show, winning gold in the T34 100m and 200m in front of a home crowd.. In recognition of her two gold medals, she was awarded the MBE in the 2013 New Years Honours list.. In 2013 Hannah won Gold in the 100m and 200m at the World Championships in Lyon France. In 2014 Hannah took Gold at 100m and for the first time competed at 800m, winning Gold in the European Championships in Swansea, after the IPC axed the 200m from the T34 schedule.. In 2015 Hannah retained her 100m World title in Doha and also won Gold in her first ever World 400m and 800m events.. 2016 saw Hannah take to the Paralympic stage as one of the favourites. At the Rio Paralympic Games, the 'Hurricane' brought home Gold in the T34 100m, 400m and 800m, breaking all three Paralympic records in the process and smashing the T34 400m World Record in the final. .
