Having worked with metal for over 30 years, I rediscovered my fascination and love of wood turning. Just before my retirement from the tobacco industry, I sought out teachers and classes on turning. As luck would have it I feel I have a "God Given Talent" for this art form. Over the years I have come to appreciate each piece of wood I use. From the twists, swirls, holes, colors and even the bark, these unique characteristics challenge me to find the perfect form and highlight the beauty of each piece of wood. Searching and collecting the wood is, truly exciting. I'm always looking for the next great tree or burl. Teaching students my craft, discussing with other artists or explaining to those interested in my art, is my greatest joy.
