Great Start Georgia Lowndes (GSGL) is a Lowndes/Valdosta Commission for Children & Youth, Inc.
(LCCY) initiative that is part of the statewide initiative Great Start Georgia.
GSGL is sponsored by the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services – Office of Prevention and Family Support and the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, and utilizes First Steps Georgia, Parents As Teachers and the Lowndes County community to offer parents support and the necessary resources to navigate the period of early childhood.
Services are offered free of charge to all Lowndes County parents that are expecting, new parents and families with children up to 5 years of age.
