Detailed description is Commited to grooming and maintaining the snowmobile trails in and around the Chesuncook Village area.
A new year brings some new changes and challenges to Maine's Northwoods snowmobile trail system.
The Chesuncook SC has adopted it's new name to reflect their new grooming responsibilities.
We are now officially the "Great Northern Snowmobile Club" of Maine.
We have made this change to reflect our vast sections of snowmobile trails in Maine's north woods.
Our once small cub now has a vast area that it will be maintaining and grooming this winter season.
Here's the line up:.

* GNSC grooms the 4 miles of ITS86 west of Abol Bridge to the Baxter State Park Road.
Then 11 miles south on ITS86 on the west side of Abol Bridge.
The ROCK PILE has been removed!! And the bridge between 1st and 2nd Debsconeag Lakes has been replaced with a NEW BRIDGE.
This section of trail will be groomed with a Pisten Bully PB240 pulling a 10' x 18' drag..

* GNSC has accepted the grooming and trail responsibilities of the Ragged Lake Trail from Penobscot Pond (ITS86) to Moosehead Trail Loop.
The Farrar Mountain Trail and the Black Pond Trail.
Those 35 miles will be groomed with a PB300 pulling new Mogal Master 12' x 18" drag..

* GNSC will also be grooming the 24 miles from Chesuncook Village to the Ragged Lake Trail with a BR275 pulling a MM10x18' drag..

* GNSC will continue to drag some small club trails as well as the connector trails over to Mud Pond that will bring you into the Allagash and on towards the Trains or west over to the Libby's and Shin Pond Tail System..
