The facility opened on June 27 after an unforeseen shutdown of the Grande Prairie and District SPCA (GPSPCA) due to financial instability. . . Until further notice, the Facility is delivering an animal care plan to guarantee the continuation of safe, humane animal shelter, care, and adoptions throughout the region. . . The animal care plan is being delivered by Grande Prairie Regional Animal Pound staff at the existing building and garage in the Brochu Industrial Park.. . Representatives from the County and City continue to work with GPSPCA personnel to find a sustainable solution to the GPSPCAs financial difficulties.. . For the next six months, these services are being delivered at the Regional Animal Care Facility – Pound Services, Adoption Services and Animal Shelter Services. . The Grande Prairie Regional Animal Care Facility Adoption Services Hours of Operation are as follows:. . • Tuesday to Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.. • Closed between noon and 1:00 pm. • Closed on all statutory holidays. .
