These adult beverages should be a good value at their sale prices or better yet, an outstanding value.. After 30+ years in the wine industry of California’s Sonoma and Napa counties, I’ve had the pleasure of tasting and enjoying some of the great wines or the world. My winery made gold medal winning cabernets and chardonnays for decades. I’ve traveled far and wide and discovered and learned about Scots Whiskies right at the source and been served $30 martinis at one of the great bars of the world.. But that’s not what we are about here.. One thing my friends in the booze business and I share is the delight in finding a good or event great wine at an amazingly cheap price. Sadly, the media offering reviews and information about wine and spirits tends to gravitate towards the expensive, the exclusive and the obscure. Why? Well, one reason might be this: free samples and access to expensive, the exclusive and the obscure.. No one it seems was willing consistently to provide independent, useful commentary on wines that sell under $20, under $15, or under $10.. Or how about that Costco Kirkland brand 1.75 Liter jug of whiskey? Is it any good? How good? Good enough?. Well, I would like to know before I find myself standing in a crowded aisle staring at labels and prices, and I think you would, too. That’s what we’re going to do here. I hope you will help. If somehow “Big Booze” sneaks and advertisement in, please let us know. They are darn sneaky and clever and the way online advertising works, on automatic, sometimes it gets by.. Our Samples Policy. Ok, we welcome samples. However, if, and before, we post a review, we will purchase the same brand item in a store and compare it to the sample we received. Hard to believe, but Big Booze has been known to send out samples of the “better stuff” in a “cheap marked bottle” to wine awards and get big write-ups.
